Boeing Seafair Air Show

Boeing Seafair Air Show Icon
It wouldn’t be an air show without an appearance from the U.S. Navy Blue Angels. And that appearance wouldn’t be as exciting without the new Boeing F/A 18 Super Hornet Jet, which is rumored to be bigger, louder, and faster than ever. But speaking of bigger, louder, and faster, this year’s Boeing Seafair Air Show will also feature the new U.S. Navy C-130 J Hercules, affectionately known as the Fat Albert, and the U.S. Air Force F-35 Lightning II Demonstration Team.

The Boeing Seafair Air Show is a chance for fans to see magnificent aerobatics done by a variety of military and civilian teams. With demonstrations from the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, U.S. Army Golden Knights, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Air Force, and so much more, this summer's show is going to be one for the ages.

Note: The I-90 Bridge will remain open during Boeing Seafair Air Show Performances.

Jon Melby - FearBoss

Jon Melby began his journey with flight at the age of 8 years old. Gathering leaves from his front yard during the fall season, he piled them up close to his roof. He grabbed a ladder and climbed up unto the roof of his home. All the neighbor kids came by to watch what Jonny was going to do. He then initiated his world of flight by jumping off the roof into the leaves. His career as an airshow pilot had its beginning.

What is happening at The Museum of Flight?

The Museum’s annual Seafair weekend outdoor festival-by-the-flight line, Jet Blast Bash, offers fast planes, music, food and a beer garden with the closest seats in Seattle to the thunder of the U.S. Navy Blue Angels’ takeoffs and landings. AND the Blues will unveil their new jets - the Super Hornets - for the first time in the Northwest!

During the week of this year’s Seafair Weekend Festival, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels will be stationed at the King County International Airport terminal (North end of Boeing Field). This area is not accessible to the public.

As a viewing alternative, you can see the Blue Angels’ take-offs and landings from The Museum of Flight’s parking lot on Thursday and Friday, August 4-5, 2022.

On Saturday and Sunday, August 6-7, 2022, viewing the Blue Angels from The Museum of Flight will be enhanced with our annual Jet Blast Bash festival taking place in the parking lot! Museum admission is required to access this outdoor event.
