Sales & Hospitality Intern

Our exclusive program includes internships with a focus in the following areas: Operations & Production, Sales & Hospitality, Communication & Marketing, Finance, and Foundation Management. Recognizing the important part an internship plays in a student’s professional growth, our goal is to help develop the necessary skills for those who wish to excel in the event industry. Successful interns will get hands-on experience in real-life non-profit festival situations, both the glamorous and mundane.

Most importantly, our interns will be an integral part of the team that runs some of the largest festivals in the Northwest. Seafair has been delighting the city of Seattle for over 71 years - come and be a part of Creating Memories and Uniting Communities.

Sales Hospitality & Exhibitor Intern

Reports to: Partnership & Sales Manager

Seafair is seeking two Sales Hospitality & Exhibitor interns who are goal oriented, self-starters. The ideal candidates will work well together as a team and individuals who follow directions and are eager to learn. These individuals must have the ability to read a map, problem solve, and provide and outstanding customer service experience. These interns will work with Seafair’s corporate sponsors, exhibitors and vendors.


  • Work closely with hospitality manager in the preplanning of the hospitality areas at Seafair weekend and other events as assigned
  • Assist with hospitality operations including ticketing, parking, signage and on-site problem solving
  • Coordinate with Seafair vendors in order to deliver flawless hospitality experiences to our partners
  • Coordinate VIP Experiences such as Seafair Summer 4th and Seafair Weekend VIP Experiences
  • Assist with entering data and contract deliverables into sponsorship database
  • Assist in design of PowerPoint presentations
  • Track partner contracts, insurance, and deposits
  • Coordinate, track and record contract deliverables at each event
  • Coordinate with Fulfilment manager and other departments at all events
  • Send out exhibitor packets
  • Track exhibitor insurance, payments, and other documents requested
  • Assist with onsite exhibitor booths marking and setup
  • Create and deliver welcome bags for exhibitors on site
  • Internet Research on exhibitor and sales leads
  • Work with photographers to capture interesting and creative activations
  • Assistance in planning and executing of events


  • Minimum of two to three years in a degree relevant to sales or events
  • Highly organized
  • Must work well under pressure and be able to prioritize tasks while taking direction and requests from multiple people
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Required to work non-traditional hours including nights and weekends as assigned
  • Above all, must have a positive attitude and be a team player even on long days
  • Must have the ability to lift/carry weights of up to 20lbs

June – August – 40+hrs per week***

***Summer interns are required to work all Seafair Signature events, including:

Lucerne Seafair Milk Carton Derby presented by Safeway / Albertsons

Seafair Triathlon (expo and event)

Alaska Airlines Seafair Torchlight Parade & Torchlight Run

Seafair Fleet Week

Seafair Weekend Festival featuring the HomeStreet Bank Cup Hydroplane Racing and Boeing Air Show
