Seafair is bringing back the official kick-off to the summer, the Seafair Kickoff Celebration presented by Bank of America, on no better day than the first official day of summer.
On Friday, June 20, 2025, Seafair will officially launch its summer event season with an exciting kick-off celebration on Pier 62 along the Seattle Waterfront. After a hiatus since COVID, this cherished tradition returns as a free, ticketed event open to the public. The celebration will bring together all major media outlets, stakeholders, sponsors, and board members for a day of community and excitement, marking the official start of Seattle’s favorite summer festival.

Seafair is bringing back one of its most beloved traditions Bigger, Better, and Bolder than ever! The Alaska Airlines Seafair Torchlight Parade is returning to its original nighttime schedule on Saturday, July 26 at 7:30 PM, and for the first time in history, the parade will take place along Seattle’s newly renovated waterfront.
Fans can experience the parade like never before, with Elliott Bay as a stunning backdrop and a brand-new parade epicenter located in front of the iconic Seattle Great Wheel.
Seafair listened to the community, and this exciting new location will elevate the parade experience, creating a spectacular summer night of entertainment, tradition, and civic pride.
Kaiser Permanente Seafair Torchlight Run: A New Route and a Fresh Start
Adding to the excitement, the Kaiser Permanente Seafair Torchlight Run is making its long-awaited return! After a post-COVID hiatus, this fan-favorite fun run is back with an all-new route.
Taking place on the morning of the parade, runners, walkers, families, and friends will have the chance to kick off the day with an energizing race along the breathtaking waterfront.
