About The Event

The Seafair Triathlon, offers participants multiple disciplines on a flat, fast and picturesque triathlon course only 10 minutes from Downtown Seattle at Seattle’s Seward Park.

Seattle’s ONLY Triathlon will once again take over the shores of Lake Washington this summer and Seward Park is the perfect backdrop for this flat, fast and picturesque triathlon course in the shadows of Downtown Seattle.

The event offers participants a unique opportunity to participate in a sprint distance triathlon or super sprint distance in an urban setting. Swimming in warm, calm waters, riding in protected roadways and running through Seward Park, this is the Pacific Northwest’s premier triathlon.

Offering a Kids Tri as well, there is a distance for everyone in the family at the Seafair Triathlon!

Saturday, July 18

What: Saturday Pre-Race Packet Pickup & Body Marking
Where: Seward Park 5900 Lake Washington Blvd, Seattle, WA 98118
Time: 12:30pm – 4:30pm 

Sunday, July 19 – RACE DAY!

  • 5:30am – Transition Zone Opens
  • 6:00am – Race Day LATE packet pickup & body marking begins
  • 6:00am – Bike Mechanics Area Opens
  • 7:00am – Sprint Triathlon Course Start
  • 7:27am – Sprint Relay Team Swim Start
  • 7:55am – Duathlon Bike Start
  • 8:07am – Super Sprint Course Start
  • 10:30am – Kids Long Course Start
  • 11:00am – Kids Short Course Start

Sprint Distance Triathlon
0.5 mile swim, 20KM (12.4 mile) bike ride, 5 Kilometer run

Sprint Duathlon
20KM (12.4 mile) bike ride, 5 Kilometer Run

Sprint Distance Relays
Same as the sprint course

Super Sprint Distance Triathlon
0.25 mile swim, 20KM (12.4 mile) bike ride, 5 Kilometer run

Kids Long Course
100-yard swim, 2-mile bike ride, 1-mile run

Kids Short Course
50-yard swim, 1-mile bike ride, 0.5 – .75 mile run (swim in water kids can touch in)

*All team participants in the relay category and individual duathlon category will also receive finisher medals after the race

Food & Drinks

Water, fruit, and healthy snacks will be available at the finish line post-race.

Seward Park is closed to participant parking.

We recommend parking in the Seward Park neighborhood and riding your bike into the park.

Saturday, July 20 at Seward Park between 12:30pm – 4:30pm at the pre-race expo or on race day before 6:30am (please come Saturday to allow time for body marking)

YES! There will be prize money awards for the top finishers of the sprint distance elite-wave.

  • 1st Place (m/f) – $200 & free entry to 2027 race
  • 2nd Place (m/f) – $100 & free entry to 2027 race
  • 3rd Place (m/f) – Free entry to 2027 race

Yes! There is a long and short course dedicated to kids age 4-12. Learn more.

We have events for children and adults of all athletic levels.

The transition area will be open and supervised starting at 5:30am on July 19th.

For the safety of all participants, only registered participants will be allowed in the transition area. Participants may leave their personal belongings in this secure area. Please rack your bike on your designated bike rack, which is determined by your race number.

Seward Park in Seattle, Washington

Gerk’s Ski & Cycle bike mechanics will also be located in the transition zone and available to make quick adjustments to your bike before the event. Gerk’s will be available when the triathlon opens, starting at 6:00am.

Important Note: Goggles are not provided by the race, but highly encouraged!

Seward Park is closed to participant parking, we recommend parking in the Seward Park neighborhood and we recommend riding your bike in to the park.

Athletes can rack their bikes the morning of the race. Saturday bike racking will not be allowed in. Nobody without a race bib and body marking will be allowed in the transition zone on race day.

The average temperature of Lake Washington in July is typically about 68 degrees.
