Kasey Keller Named 2025 Alaska Airlines Seafair Torchlight Parade Grand Marshal
Four-time U.S. World Cup veteran and hometown hero to lead the historic Parade on Seattle’s Waterfront.
Seattle, WA – Kasey Keller, former Seattle Sounders goalkeeper and current ESPN soccer analyst, will serve as the Grand Marshal for the 2025 Alaska Airlines Seafair Torchlight Parade. This marks a milestone in the parade’s illustrious history, as the event moves to the Seattle Waterfront for the first time in its 76-year history.
Born in Olympia, Washington, Keller is well-known for his contributions to the Seattle Sounders and his extensive career with the U.S. Men’s National Team, including four World Cup appearances. Keller’s passion for Seattle runs deep, as he moved to the city in 2008 after the Sounders joined Major League Soccer and signed Keller as the team’s first player. Keller’s love for the region, its people, and its traditions is evident, and he has always been a fan of Seafair. This announcement is especially timely, with Seattle preparing to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup, a global event Keller helped put on the map as a player and broadcaster.
Keller shared, “It’s always an honor to help represent the city I love. From the Blue Angels to the hydroplanes to the Pirates, Seafair has been a staple of Seattle summers. When summer comes along, we celebrate the water and mountains… there’s nothing better than summer in the Northwest, and Seafair represents that.”
Keller’s long-standing connection with Seafair includes a memorable experience flying in a Blue Angel in 2009, an event he describes as an unforgettable highlight. His enthusiasm for Seafair, its cultural significance, and the iconic events it brings to Seattle makes him the perfect Grand Marshal for this year’s parade.
The 2025 Alaska Airlines Seafair Torchlight Parade will take place on Saturday, July 26, starting at 7:30pm. The parade is free to attend, and attendees are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the festivities on Pier 62. Limited reserved seating is also available, and tickets can be purchased at seafair.org.
For those who cannot attend in person, the parade will be broadcast live on KIRO, thanks to Seafair’s broadcast partner, the Port of Seattle. Don’t miss this spectacular event as Seafair celebrates its 76th year with a bigger, better, and bolder tradition!
